Overview / Event Details

The Event

LAB is held the 1st Wed. of every month at the Taproom. Our signature event brings together San Diego's creative artists with San Diego's award-winning local breweries. Each event involves a new artist who displays their work for the month until the next LAB. The event focuses on informing the public and showcasing what our local creative talents are all about. This continually evolving event, proves to get better as we build a following for the beer and create a buzz in the art community.

Setup

Once the local Artist(s) are decided on, we create the flyer & TapRoom and the artists start to promote the event. We like to start promoting at least 2 weeks before the event.  The more the Artist(s) can promote the event the better it will be. Both digital and printed flyers will be available.

As the artist

Your work will be on display for an entire month giving you exposure to over 2,000 people. Our wall space is roughly 500 sf. at the back of the restaurant, usually split between one or two artists. All art will be put up the day before the event and will remain up for a month until the next event. Keep in touch with the LAB director for scheduling times to put up and take down the art. Any promotional material you would like to bring is greatly encourage. This is your LAB. We can put bios or any kind of media you would like on the tables for customers. The art wall is constructed of chalkboard paint so you can write artwork prices and descriptions directly on the wall! Please bring business cards or some kind of contact information for customers to get in touch with you about purchasing (we do not handle any of the transactions, nor do we take a cut of your hard work).

                      Hanging the Art

We use a hook system which requires pieces to have something that will attach to a hook on the back. We can help you with this when we put the art up.

                      Promotion

Each artist should try to bring in at least 10 people. The more people the better the event for everyone, so promoting on your end through social networks, family, friends, etc. is a must.

                      Artist Tips

1. Larger is better (it’s easier to view & sells better) 2. Local is popular. (local places, people, etc.) 3. Canvas & or un-framed art is easier to hang and looks & sells better.
